Citrus Tips

  1. Always make sure that you remove any grass from the bottom of your citrus plants. Citrus and grass are not a good mix. Especially in summer you should take time each month to trim any creeping grass that may come within a meter of the base of your citrus plants.
  2. When planting a citrus plant ensure you dig plenty of manure through the soil in a one meter squared hole. The best fertalisers for citrus plants are cow, chook and horse manure.
  3. Water is essential for the healthy maturation of citrus fruit. Make sure your plant is being watered as often as possible to ensure vibrant pickings.
  4. Never plant a citrus plant in the shade. Citrus plants require allot of sun and are very happy to be planted in full sunlight. Make sure your citrus plants receive at least six hours of direct sunlight each day.
